Behind an ordinary house front and down a narrow passageway, you will step into a wonderland full of things to do, things to see and things to remember. Share with us the experience of being a Signalman. Clip your own tickets, remember, or imagine, what it was like in the days of steam. In our half an acre of Cotswold Gardens there is something for everyone. Space to run and play, secluded areas to sit and relax and everywhere, things to fascinate you. For the railway enthusiast the Winchcombe Railway Museum is unparalleled having one of the largest displays of line-side notices among its collection of signalling equipment. For the gardening enthusiast, the Victorian Garden is full with old and rare plants. For the children there are signals to operate, bells to ring, a winding railway line to play on in complete safety, as well as a climbing equipment and a slide. The whole area is safely enclosed and all exhibits are there to be used, so, unlike some museums, this one comes alive! |
Open 1.30pm to 5pm each day until 7th Sept then Wed to Sunday each week, 1.30pm to 5pm until 19th Oct then open each day until the 31st Oct. The museum then closes until Good Friday 2009.
